Your Success Is Our Success
Our firm represents clients in trial and appellate courts at the federal and state level, before administrative tribunals, and in arbitrations and other dispute resolution proceedings. We also represent clients before government agencies such as the U.S.Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Medical Board.
Even so, at De la Rosa & Chaumette, we treat every client as if they were our only one. We make it our business to apply our breadth and depth of dispute resolution experience to matters while acquiring a deep understanding of our clients' industries, leading to successes such as:
Financial Fraud:
Our lawyers exposed a multi-million dollar scheme to defraud Latin American investors who had advanced money against an international shipment of U.S.-produced sorghum. Our efforts produced a highly favorable settlement for our clients on confidential terms.
Electronic Discovery
Management:
A large pipeline company brought in De la Rosa & Chaumette lawyers to oversee the discovery effort in a large class action. Our lawyers negotiated with the vendors, the opposing parties, and the court to minimize costs while meeting the company’s obligations in the litigation.
Medical and
Health Care Litigation:
De la Rosa & Chaumette obtained a unanimous defense verdict on behalf of a large, Houston-based hospital system that was sued for $20 million by the family of a brain-damaged patient. The patient had suffered a cerebral herniation following treatment for routine pancreatitis.
Insurance Coverage
Litigation:
De la Rosa & Chaumette lawyers litigated against an insurer who sought to avoid paying on a business interruption policy after numerous unforeseen construction delays at a cogeneration power facility. We defeated the insurer’s primary defense via summary judgment and obtained a multi-million dollar settlement for our client.
Trade Secret Disputes:
A Houston-based company accused of trade secret theft called on De la Rosa & Chaumette lawyers to defend the suit after a temporary restraining order had been entered against the company. Our representation resulted in a favorable resolution of all claims and no lasting effect on the company.
